Application of Computer Intelligent Systems in Medicine Invited Lecture by Prof. Jelena Vasiljevic

The University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle” – Ohrid had the privilege to host one of the top ten Ph.D. from Serbia in the past several years, awarded by: the Center for Promotion of Science in Belgrade, Serbia. As part of the Erasmus+ teacher exchange program in the second week of October 2023, we had the honour to follow the invited lecture by Prof. Jelena Vasiljevic. She is an Associate Professor of Intelligent Systems at the School of Computing, Union University in Belgrade. She was declared the best researcher in 2014, awarded by the Institute Mihajlo Pupin from Serbia. Also, she has received a special award at the international technical fair, for PhD work in the area of cancer image detection in Serbia. Prof. Jelena is one of the top ten women in 2014, awarded by Magazine Blic Women in Serbia. A female hero, awarded for projects in medical image cancer detection research in Serbia. The Oxford Encyclopedia has listed Prof. Jelena Vasiljevic under the successful people of Serbia. 

Prof. Jelena Vasiljevic at UIST held an Invited Lecture on the Application of computer intelligent systems in medicine. The latest achievements and state-of-the-art scientific discoveries in the field of applied artificial intelligence have been presented. The clinical results of the medical image classifications with application in the diagnosis of cancer have been presented. The use of the innovative multifractal analysis of tumour microscopic images can run a prediction of breast cancer chemotherapy response. Finally, the application of intelligent systems and robots for medical treatments has been presented.
