Cyber Pathways for Women: International Girls in ICT Day 2024

On April 25th, 2024, the University of Information Science and Technology (UIST) “St. Paul the Apostle” in Ohrid hosts a landmark event commemorating International Girls in ICT Day. Organized by the Critical Infrastructure Digitalization and Resilience (CIDR) program in North Macedonia, funded by USAID, this event marks a pivotal moment in addressing cybersecurity workforce development and fostering inclusivity in the digital sphere.

Through initiatives like the Cyber Pathways for Women (CPW) activity, CIDR is paving the way for women in North Macedonia, Serbia, and Moldova to enter and excel in cybersecurity careers, thereby fortifying the resilience of critical infrastructure against cyber threats.

With the theme of ‘Leadership’ guiding this year’s celebrations, International Girls in ICT Day 2024 underscores the importance of empowering women to lead in the dynamic field of information and communication technology. By championing diversity and inclusivity, we not only bridge the digital gender divide but also unlock the full potential of our societies. Through collaborative efforts and collective action, we are poised to create a more equitable, resilient, and innovative cybersecurity ecosystem, where every individual, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully. Join us in shaping the future of cybersecurity, where women stand at the forefront of leadership and innovation.
