Law on Security of Network and Information Systems and Digital Transformation

The second public debate discussing the Law on Security of Network and Information Systems and Digital Transformation took place, with Prof. Dr. Ustijana Rechkoska Shikoska, Vice Rector participating as an ICT expert and part of a working group announced by the Ministry of Information Society and Administration. This debate, organized by the Ministry, aimed to address the new version of the law, incorporating various comments and suggestions, which have already been made available on ENER.

This legislation outlines the establishment of the Agency for the Security of Network and Information Systems and Digital Transformation. Its structure mirrors that of the European Union’s regulatory body, ENISA.

The agency’s primary mandate involves overseeing and coordinating the digital transformation process within the public sector. Additionally, as stipulated in the EU’s NIS Directive, the Agency assumes authority concerning the security of the country’s network and information systems. In the debate were present representatives from the Government of North Macedonia, the American Chamber of Commerce in Macedonia – AmCham, the Agency for Electronic Communications of the Republic of Macedonia AEK, MASIT, Macedonian Academic Research Network (MARnet), etc.
