28 May Monument of the Future
On Friday, May 24th, Sefidanis launched his latest innovation titled “Monument of the Future”. The futuristic three-meter smart totem was displayed in the atrium of the University St. Paul the Apostle, where numerous visitors from the country and abroad had the opportunity to get acquainted with the unique installation. In a black glass prism that symbolizes the space-time continuum, a cosmonaut is trapped in the natural dimensions of a human being, which represents a traveler from the future and with the help of artificial intelligence can make predictions in order to warn us about the challenges of tomorrow. The user interface patented by Sefidanis enables direct communication with the hybrid through speech synthesis and recognition, as well reflects the entire environment in the virtual scene through numerous sensors installed on the smart monument.
On the occasion of the national holiday, the astronaut from the future on a holographic parchment brought the Glagolitic script of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, as a hope that modern information technologies can preserve and transmit to next generations our cultural and spiritual heritage.
The project was supported by FITR, the Innovation and Technological Development Fund within the call “Startup-5”, and it was implemented by the team at Sefidanis Research and Development from Ohrid, whose founder and manager is Prof. Dr. Anis Sefidanis from the Faculty of Machine Intelligence and Robotics at our university.
