03 Oct OPENING CEREMONY OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024
The opening ceremony of the new academic year 2023/2024 at UIST St. Paul the Apostle started with the national anthem performed by Mr. Gjoko Chemenkoski, a student from the State Music School in Struga. The ceremony was held at the Amphitheater of the University and opened by the Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Ustijana Rechkoska Shikoska. She wished the students success, emphasizing honesty, dedication, and morality, and protecting the integrity of the University, our city of Ohrid, and our country. The event was moderated by Ms. Ana Aleksova, the President of the University Student Assembly. She had an introductory and motivational speech for the new students. After that followed an address by alumni students – My Success Story at UIST, by Ms. Svetlana Mitrevska, a master’s student at UIST and DevOps Engineer at Slice. She welcomed the new students at UIST and shared her insights and inspiration on embracing the future of technology, adapting to change, and making an impact in the world. Also, another successful student from UIST, Mr. Stefan Trajanoski, shared his story. Stefan, a full-stack web developer at Qinshift, said that he transformed his fear into a love for technology, programming, and engineering and encouraged the students to pursue their passion with dedication and hard work. The ceremony was closed with a final speech of the President of the University Senate – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rasim Salkoski.
