The University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle” Ohrid (UIST) is a higher education institution (HEI), leader in the quality of academic programs and research projects in the information science and technology.
UIST is an English-speaking HEI with programs designed to meet the needs of the new generation of ICT professionals, allowing its students enough space for specialization and pursuit of their individual interests.
The international character of the University is in line with the requirements of the institutional internationalization of the ERASMUS + Programme at educational as well as administrative and student level.
As an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) 2014-2020 holder, UIST is committed to follow the ECHE`s fundamental principles: (1) Respect in full the principles of non-discrimination, transparency and inclusion set out in the Programme; (2) Ensure equal and equitable access and opportunities to current and prospective participants from all backgrounds, paying particular attention to the inclusion of those with fewer opportunities; (3) Ensure full automatic recognition of all credits (based on the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System – ECTS) gained for learning outcomes; (4) Charge no fees, in the case of credit mobility, to incoming mobile students for tuition, registration, examinations or access to laboratory and library facilities; (5) Ensure the quality of the mobility activities and of the cooperation projects throughout the application and implementation phases, and (6) Implement the priorities of the Programme (ERASMUS CHARTER FOR HIGHER EDUCATION 2021-2027).
UIST is continuously and systematically working and committed to intense and broaden the practice of international cooperation in form of mobilities and other types of partnership, as an integral part of the institutional strategy on internationalization and modernization for the purpose of contributing to the achievement of the key Erasmus goals and principles.
Being part of ERASMUS+ Programme is one of the core pillars of the institutional strategy and the institutional future plan and goal is to continue, maintain, strengthen and upgrade the work in this area.
The ERASMUS + Programme, and on the other hand is highly valued and welcomed by all the institutional structures: academic, administrative and especially students.
ERASMUS+ Programme contributes to the establishing and strengthening of the vital partnerships in direction of improving the quality of education, achieving scientific excellence, institutional modernization and capacity building.
UIST has established an administrative structure to fully realize (establish, implement, monitor and evaluate) the Erasmus + activities, by mobilizing needed academic and administrative resources and by practicing transparency, visibility, non-discrimination and inclusion.
By being part of the ERASMUS + Programme, we truly believe to contribute to the European values for modernization of the education and the society in general.
