UIST, Participated in Macedonia2025

At this year’s Macedonia2025 conference, the important aspects of possibilities for the Macedonian innovation system were discussed. Professor Ustijana Rechkoska Shikoska, Ph.D. Vice-Rector and Professor Jovanka Damoska Sekuloska, Ph.D. Dean of CSE participated with their ideas and suggestions.

The President of North Macedonia, Mr. Stevo Pendarovski emphasized the important role of the younger generation as a critical mass of highly qualified people who will become drivers of positive change. One of his questions was, what should be done so that initiatives like “Startup Macedonia”, instead of being the exception, become the rule in the domestic economy?

Instead of wasting energy on political topics that often needlessly preoccupy us 24/7, all political actors should build a consensus around creating an environment for innovation because it is a vital national interest. Part of the solutions are included in the Development Framework #MKD2030 as a joint platform for the long-term development of North Macedonia. The incentive of Mike S. Zafirovski is this concept to grow and produce solutions where UIST is directly involved.
