17 Mar UIST, the First Officially Accredited ICDL Training and Certification Center in the Region
The University of Information Science and Technology – St. Paul the Apostle in Ohrid is the first official accredited training and certification center for ICDL / ECDL in the region.
International Certification for Digital Literacy (ICDL), formerly known as European Computer Driving License (ECDL), is a computer literacy certification program provided by ECDL Foundation. In 1995, the ECDL certification programme was developed through a task force of the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS) and was recommended by the European Commission High Level Group, ESDIS, to be a Europe-wide certification scheme.
The quality and reputation of ICDL is built on over twenty years of experience in delivering certification programmes to over 15 million people and in more than 40 languages worldwide, with more than 2.5 million ICDL tests taken annually. The ICDL success is maintained by the ongoing innovation in certification programme development, the commitment to rigorous test design methodologies, and consistent adherence to our quality assurance standards.
The University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle” – Ohrid is proudly continuing to follow the latest international standards in ICT education and certification. Students, professionals from government organizations, as well as private corporations from all over the world, can enroll for the preparation and certification of all 3+2 levels of ICDL at our University in Ohrid. The UIST ICDL center offers the Base, Standard/Profile, Advanced/Expert levels and has several accredited mentors from the teaching staff, including the highest expert level testers. The certificates are lifetime and cross-border valid, issued by the official accreditation body in our country, ECDL Macedonia. On 14 March 2023, the representatives of ECDL Macedonia: President Hari Kocev and CEO Cvetanka Koret, officially promoted the UIST ICDL center together with the Vice Rector of the University Prof. Ustijana Rechkoska Shikoska, PhD.
