27 Dec Visit to Florida State University (FSU) and invited guest lecture
Associate Professor Ustijana Rechkoska-Shikoska, from UIST “St. Paul the Apostle” Ohrid, Macedonia gave an invited guest lecture titled: “My science – My Life – My story: Big Data Analytics, Security & Risk Management” at Florida State University. The lecture referring to the big data analytics, offensive security, risk management & insurance, predictive modelling algorithms, financial forecasting by use of machine learning has raised an interesting discussion among the audience, FSU representatives, professors and students, which has led to a conclusion to initiate further joint research opportunities.
Prof. Rechkoska-Shikoska also presented UIST “St. Paul the Apostle” Ohrid, Macedonia; faculties & study programs, centers, academic and international cooperation, UIST goals, vision, motivation, challenges, and the city of Ohrid as a perfect place to visit and study.
During her visit to Florida State University, prof. Rechkoska-Shikoska had official meetings with FSU representatives: Professor Jocelyn Vaughn, program director of International Initiatives Department within the Division of Academic Affairs of the FSU Center for Global and Multicultural Engagement; Professor & Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Kathleen McCullough; Professor and Director of International Programs Ruby Pui Wan; Payne H. & Charlotte Hodges Midyette, eminent scholars in Risk Management & Insurance; Professor Patricia Born; Professor Paul Schriefer, director of Risk Management & Insurance at the FSU Center for Risk Management Education & Research. Collaboration with Florida State University i.e. FSU College of Business, FSU College of Communication and Information, FSU College of Law, FSU College of Art and Sciences, FSU Center for Risk Management Education & Research was discussed in terms of joint teaching and research activities, exchange programs for staff and students, as well as possibilities for practical instructions for students in ICT companies, for all the study programs. An official visit of FSU representatives to UIST “St. Paul the Apostle” Ohrid, Macedonia is announced for 2022.
